Would water damage a computer screen?

Well, actually, I dont mean water, I mean (those little guys that swim that are inside a man that show up when hes "having fun" if you know what I mean). If that stuff gets on a computer screen, like an lcd screen, will it ruin it? I mean on the screen, not in the cracks to the side. I mean if its sittin there for like a few minutes?
