From Playing Soccer to (field, turf) Hockey Questions?

Hi im 12 and I've played soccer for the last 6 years and I want to have a difference this year and play hockey (the one with the ball not puck usually played on turf) except for I don't know much about it I was wondering what the rules are and equipment you need and I need to know completely how to play so if you have the time to make a detailed answer you could easily get yourself 10 points
