I dont want to fall if hes not gunna catch me. what should i do?

There's This FINE Boy I Went out WIth ALmost 2 Years Ago. he was havin problems at home then & was always smokin weed. we broke up because he kissed my (ex) best friend. we havent really been talking since. we just recently started talking again. he's so different. he's sweet and knows how to treat me.( unlike other boys i know). i've heard once a cheater always a cheater and i pray to god its not true. for an example of how sweet he is last night he sent me this message.... "I miss you very much and I hope that there is a possibility that in the near future we could reunite and catch up on all that weve missed.it will be like putting gasoline on the fire that still burns for you in my heart,the fire that never went out."......it Made Me Cry. I still think about him all the time. and honestly ive never lost my feelings for him... even over 2 yrs. i thought he moved far away but he only moved 30 mins away. i don't know. is it a good idea..? i dont want to be hurt again
