i cannot think of this book title. i remember certain parts. i remember this kid had a book or something that could do magic. later a guy gave him a ring so it turns into a gauntlet. i remember kids trained by fighting zeppelins. i remember they went into the underworld and met that guy "the janitor". i hope that description helps!
